Hestan is a small island situated just off
the Dumfries an
Galloway coast in Scotland.
It sits at the mouth of the Urr
Estuary in the Solway Firth.
Though small, measuring approximately 460 metres by 270
metres with a maximum height of just over 50 metres, the
island has a surprisingly rich and exciting history.
